Common questions
- How do I learn to play?
- Tap Learn to Play on the main screen for a guided first game, or How to Play for the full rules. How to Play is also in the game's menu (•••) during a game.
- How do I win?
- Reach the number of cities chosen at setup (3 by default) as a year ends, then still be alone in the lead when the next year ends. Or conquer every rival.
- Where did my game go?
- The game in progress is saved automatically; tap Continue on the main screen. A finished game stays under Your last game until you start a new one. Saved copies are under Saved Games.
- How does online play work?
- Tap Play Online (you'll need to be signed in to Game Center). Matches are turn-based: play your turn when it suits you, and Game Center lets the next player know. Online games deal the land at random and have no trading; instead, set your stances toward rivals to decide whose side you take in battles fought while you're away.
- Can I play with friends on one device?
- Yes: on the setup screen, make each player a person (tap the person or chip beside their name), then pass the device around.
- Can I turn off the hints that show my chances?
- Yes: switch off Show attack odds under Game on the setup screen for a harder game.
